The always-eloquent Zen of Motorcycling just blogged this photo of two male cardinals in a moment of (rare) peacefully coexistence.
Self Made Man, by a writer-woman who disguised herself as a man, joined a bowling team, lived in a monastery, dated women, and otherwise explored just how the other half lived.
I won’t give a long book review–I’ve almost but not quite finished reading it–but I will say that halfway through the book I walked through a busy shopping center and liked every person I saw better than I would have before I started reading the book.
If you think about it, that’s an excellent book review.

A great post to read early on Thanksgiving morning (west coast time) - being in the midst of a huge kitchen remodel which is running months late, we’re not hosting Thanksgiving for the first time in like twenty years, instead doing it at my parents house. Reading your post made me smile and relax - thanks, and have a great holiday weekend!

I know you’ve not tested your template in various browsers, machines, monitors, and so forth.
For the record, I’m using Mozilla 1.2b or so. On a small monitor, Win98, 64 megs of RAM on a Pentium 1, only 166 mhz, ancient, steam-powered, machine. Most of which is irrelevant to finding your font size completely unreadably small ant tracks. Switching Mozilla up to boosting text to 150% does work, though.
Just offering a datapoint.
Thanks for blogging.
